This place is amazing! My friends and I went here for my birthday. From the time we walked in until the time we left the service was fantastic. Our cook was funny and our waiter was awesome. Since it was my birthday I received half off on my meal! So exciting! I recommend this place to everyone. Keep up the great work

I tried Kobe for the first time tonight and it was amazing. I did not have the pleasure of the Hibachi Grill entertainment no fault of resturant. I was at a booth just there for the sushi and all I can say is wow. I am so angry with myself that it took so long to come. My son said mom this is the best Sushi I have ever had. I cannot wait to come back and enjoy more

This place is amazing! My sister in law took me and the hubby here today for lunch. I definately recommend the cheese balls for an appetizer. The ginger dressing w/ the meat was wonderful! Definately will be back here, when we come down for a visit

Me and my co-workers went here yesterday to celebrate my birthday. Well most of them never been to a Japanese steakhouse and they were amazed what they saw inside. its real nice. From what we see all chefs have different style of cooking and shows. Lucky us we had a chef name DRAGON that is really entertaining and have a good sense of humor. OMG real funny guy! I'm not gonna tell it to you guys what happened because if I said so no more excitement. The cooking is excellent and the management are friendly. Keep up the good work guys. See you guys soon

I celebrated my birthday today at Kobe. My family and myself waited for about 20 min in the lobby. The place was so packed at weekends. Even though we waited chef (DRAGON) make it up for the wait. Excellent food , nice and really funny guy. I did 35 sec in Sake shot. Were still talking about our nice experience way home. Compliment to the chef. Really highly recommended to all. Thank

My whole office and I used to order from Kobe at LEAST 2 times a week and loved their food, especially their ginger salad dressing!! I would order 2 or even 3 extra side salads because it was just that good...until they got new management. Their sushi bar barely had any selections and they changed the recipe to the ginger dressing and it tastes awful! Talk about a HUGE disappointment! PLEASE bring back the old ginger dressing! Since the change, the 7+ people in our office that ordered bi-weekly haven't been back

My husband and I have fallen in love with this restaurant! Last night was our anniversary and having been to other hibachi restaurants in DC and FL we decided to give KOBE a try. We only had about an hour and a half before we had to be elsewhere and everywhere in town was packed! We think it was homecoming, 30+ teens in semi formalwear arrived shortly after we did:) We walked in without a reservation and were immediately seated drinks were brought and orders were taken. Within 10 minutes the fun began the man performing/grilling was awesome and patient he helped me get pictures of everything! Im always hesitant to order seafood at restaurants in IL having grown up on fresh seafood ive been spoiled but my husband had the Chicken and Lobster and i had the steak and scallops. They were wonderful! Everything was absolutely delish! The soup and salad were so yummy and the meat and fish were perfect! And the vegetables and rice and noodles were a meal all by themselves! We also ordered spring rolls that came out hot and were so good! WHat impressed us was that the entire experience only took 45 minutes! we made our show in plenty of time and had a great time! So far it is our favorite restaurant in IL! Even though we live almost 2 hrs away we plan on returning soon! Thank you for a wonderful experience

I think this place is wonderful and with the new management, it's gotten even better! The only thing I miss about the "old" Kobe is the old Bloomington roll. Sorry, but the new one just doesn't compete! There is now more staff so it's easier when it gets a bit busier, and the atmosphere itself when you walk in doesn't seem as cluttered and run-down. The tank is no longer right in the entrance, but is instead off to the side which opens up the place and gives you a view of the awesome looking bar I have yet to go to. I really wish this place got even busier so I could see more of the areas with people! Maybe someday. :

Kobe has been a family tradition for over a year and a half now. We came every other week at the least. The staff was always friendly and we began to become friends. They ended up knowing our order by heart and being able to talk with us about our/their lives. Too bad the place has new management! It just isn't the same.. you have to keep it original. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the place and the break from the craziness of modern restaurants. The first thing you saw when you walked in was a fountain and a fish tank..Japanese right? Also, I am not as much of a fan of Japanese food as the rest of my family. I came for the rice and soup (amazing!). But now that is all changed and they throw cauliflower instead of broccoli (?) . I have never seen that in a Japanese restaurant. We are moving onto a different Japanese restaurant in town, although nothing can compete with the memory of the real Kobe. Loved it while it was real.
